John Mayer Battle Studies Winter Tour Video

This video of JM is a favorite of mine. We first saw it on the Battle Studies Spring Tour 2010. He had it playing on the huge screen behind him during "Edge of Desire" - his last song of the night. It was a fitting end to the show.

I think it gives a look into his true personality. The “real” John Mayer if you will. It shows him doing what he loves most: playing music. Sure, he’s been in the tabloids a lot, he’s had many relationships, but I’d like to focus on his incredible talents - the reason he’s in the spotlight in the first place.  

This video shows him in a really down-to-earth way and he seems like the kind of guy I’d like to meet. And tour with.

Song of the Moment #3

Next Girl by The Black Keys is one of the most bad @ss songs I’ve ever heard. It’s such an incredible blues song, I’ve never heard anything else like it - besides other Black Keys songs! His voice is so soulful and the guitar riff is simple yet awesome! Combine it with the drums and BAM you’ve got Next Girl. I love his effects... I’ve got to find out what pedals he uses for that sound - it’s so cool!

This song is on my top 10 list of favorite blues songs.

Cal Henry's Song of the Moment - #2

I was introduced to this song on the way to Busch Gardens and I had my friend play it over and over until we got there!

The song is by a British band called The Zutons and they are awesome! This song is so catchy. It’s got great vocals and a funky sound - the chorus is sweet! 

I know I’ve used exclamation points to end every sentence but that’s how excited I am about this song! This is tied for my favorite song of the year, even though it didn’t come out in 2010.

This song’s about a girl who did some pretty bad things but he misses her ginger hair and the way she likes to dress... he can’t get over this chick!

Cal Henry’s Song of the Moment - #1

Here’s a song that you wouldn’t think is a nice, peppy, happy-feeling song by the title and subject matter - but it is!
